After talking about this on the morning show I had to learn more. There are a lot of dangers that come into play when hiking, but you likely don’t think of poop.
The National Park Service recently posted on Facebook that rolling balls of “crap” are being pushed around by a type of dung beetle in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It goes on to explain that dung beetles rely on animal excrement to reproduce. We just hope that the size is kept to what you see in the video below. Check out the story from the New York Post here.
