If you’ve driven by Gregory Park in Brainerd recently you’ve noticed a little construction going on. You’ll be happy to know that there’s a new warming house being built!
The plan is to have it completely done and ready for the public by the Great Pumpkin Festival this coming October 12th! I spoke with Parks and Rec Director Tony Sailer and he told me that it was much needed, and the new house will of course have a great warming room but also have improved ADA compliant restrooms. There’s a pavilion that is being built that you’ll be able to rent by next summer and a small kitchen counter and sink area as well.
For those of you wondering, the fountain will again begin to flow when the construction is finished. It’s only off because they want to make sure all the plumbing is finished up with this project. As far as progress, there was cement being poured today, and the plumbing is in the ground. All in all I feel like it’s a great thing that our community believes in preserving and improving our parks!
