Trunk or Treat is an alternative to the “house-to-house” trick or treating tradition on Halloween.

How it works: people park their cars side by side in a parking lot and hand out candy to dressed-up youngsters! A lot of people even decorate their trunks for the event. Below is a list of such events in the Brainerd lakes area, all of which are taking place on Halloween.

Christ Lutheran Church in Baxter will host a Trunk or Treat event on Halloween from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

The Assembly of God Church in Crosby will host a Trunk or Treat night on Halloween from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

The Church of the Nazerene in Backus are inviting kids to Trunk or Treat in their parking lot on Halloween from 4:30 to 6:00 PM. They will also have hot dogs, chips, and hot chocolate!

Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd will host a Trunk or Treat event on Halloween from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Crosslake Lutheran Church’s youth group will host a Trunk or Treat in the parking lot of the church on Halloween from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Decorated cars will be in the parking lot, as well as a bouncy house and games in the church’s fellowship hall!
