I was under the impression it’s the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Should it actually be called the All Music Genre Hall of Fame? There’s everything from rock to new wave pop to rap. So, how does a group or individual artist become eligible? Simply have a commercial recording at least twenty-five years prior to the nomination. That’s it? Then what? Then it’s voting time by more than one thousand artists, historians and members of the industry on an international level. They take into consideration an artist’s musical influence, length and depth of career, and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique.  So much for Devo then, huh? Fans also have the opportunity to participate in the selection process through December 9, 2018 at Yes, your vote matters here too. Or, visit the hall in Cleveland, OH and cast your vote there.

Inductees will be announced December 2018 with the induction ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 29, 2019.

Here’s a video from the 2018 induction ceremony with highlights from The Cars, The Moody Blues, Dire Straits, Bon Jovi, and Heart.
