Here are the new movies coming to Brainerd this weekend.

First Man

IMDb Synopsis: A look at the life of the astronaut, Neil Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon on July 20, 1969.

Rating: PG-13

Run Time: 2h 21min

The Oscar buzz is strong here and Ryan Gosling is coming for the crown. Early reviews have this movie as one of the best of the year easily. It’s already sitting at a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Bad Times At The El Royale

IMDb synopsis: Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past.

Rating: R

Run Time: 2h 20min

The best thing about this movie? I have no clue what’s happening after watching the trailer. It’s directed by Drew Goddard, who was at the helm for 2012 horror movie The Cabin in the Woods. I absolutely despise scary movies, but CITW was different and unexpected in the best way possible. So when I get a movie which once again gives me no idea of what the actual plot of the movie is and a cast heavy on talent, you have my undivided attention.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

IMDb synopsis: Two young friends find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist’s dummy to life.

Rating: PG

Run Time: 1h 30min

GOOSEBUMPS and Halloween are literally the perfect combo. Those books were a huge part of my early reading in school. Seeing those books come to life on the big screen now is a major nostalgia shot to the brain for me. Hopefully this one can live up to how well the first one did.
