Take A Kid Ice Fishing Weekend is this Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Jan. 14-16, 2023) here in Minnesota.   During this three-day weekend, any Minnesota resident can go ice fishing for free (without a license) if they are fishing with a child who is 15 or younger.  Minnesotans 15 years old or younger do not need fishing licenses any time of the year.  As a reminder, ice conditions vary from lake to lake.  Always check local ice conditions before heading out onto a lake or river.
