The Susan G. Komen- Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure is this Saturday. This is the 20th year of the event and every year the PowerLoon has been there to help with event activity and celebrate with those that have overcome the disease.
The location of this year’s event has changed from recent years. We’ll be assembling in Pequot Lakes. The race will begin and end on the track around the High School football field in Pequot. So grab a friend and be part of the fun. 75 percent of the funds remain right here in Minnesota funding local grant programs for education, screening and treatment of breast cancer. Remember you don’t have to be part of a team and there is a very low entry fee to be part of the race. If you know someone that has been affected by breast cancer (and most of us have), you can run or walk in honor of someone.
There’s a competitive race that is a sanctioned competition, there’s a fun run, a walk, kids races and there’s even a Zero K that allows you to take a simple step to the finish line. It’s all to raise funds in the fight against breast cancer. Click Here to get all the info and get registered for the day. I’ll see you Saturday morning!
