President Donald Trump is expected to visit the Twin Cities on Monday, according to a GOP official who wished to remain anonymous because details are still being finalized.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a “VIP Movement Notification” for Minneapolis for Monday. Trump will highlight tax reform during the April 15 visit, the GOP official said, which falls on the same day as the deadline for tax filing. No other details were available Wednesday. The president has touted the federal tax overhaul known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as one of his biggest accomplishments. It was passed in December 2017.

Trump is hoping to win Minnesota in the next election and has been citing tax cuts and his work on trade deals as positives that will help Republicans win in 2020.Trump lost Minnesota to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016 by 1.5 percentage points. Minnesota has not voted for a Republican for president since Richard Nixon in 1972.
