I recently received a message from a Pequot Lakes Grad Blast committee member who said that there is good news when it comes to the annual celebration for the Pequot Lakes 2021 graduating seniors, who have had much of their junior year and their entire senior year impacted “big time” by COVID-19.
In this message from Tami Lueck, she stated, “They (the seniors) haven’t been able to celebrate the many milestones and last events that Seniors deserve and look forward to during high school.” Lueck added that “due to restrictions, the possibility of hosting Grad Blast was uncertain, but with recent changes to event restrictions, we are able to host the event. With the short amount of time before graduation (PLHS Graduation is May 28th), we need your help. We know the past year has been difficult for all, but we are looking for support to pull off a great event.”
A call is going out to all Pequot Lakes families, alumni, community members, business owners or ANYONE who would like to support and spread some joy to the Pequot Lakes Graduating Class of 2021, which is a class of approximately 140 students.
There are a few ways that Lueck said the community can help “adopt a PLHS Senior or Sponsor the Grad Blast itself: Adopt a 2021 Senior- donate $100 to sponsor a senior
- Donate- gift cards, prizes, gift certificates, treats, or money
- Gift bags- donate 140 of an item to put in gift bags for each graduate
- Share- invite others to support this event
For those wanting to contribute, all donations of any amount are greatly appreciated! Donations can be dropped off at the Pequot Lakes High School office, Monday-Friday 8am-3pm, mailed to the address below or can be given to a Grad Blast committee member. Checks should be made payable to PLHS Grad Blast and can be sent to 30805 Olson Street, Pequot Lakes, MN 56472.
