Labor Day weekend is upon us and here is what you can find new in the Brainerd area movie theater.

KIN

IMDb Synopsis: Chased by a vengeful criminal, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers, a recently released ex-con and his adopted teenage brother are forced to go on the run with a weapon of mysterious origin as their only protection.

Rating: PG-13

Run Time: 1h 42min

A movie that involves both Dennis Quaid and James Franco but it doesn’t look like they both have a large part in a movie about a new space-age gun? Yeah I don’t really know either. and it doesn’t look like the Rotten Tomato meter gets it either as it’s sitting at 32%.

Operation Finale

IMDb synopsis: A team of secret agents set out to track down the Nazi officer who masterminded the Holocaust.

Rating: PG-13

Run Time: 2h 2min

Oscar Issac has been on a tear in the last 5ish years with movies like: Ex Machina, Star Wars and Annihilation. I wouldn’t expect Operation Finale to get to that level, but it still feels like a movie with good history and an interesting story that most people haven’t heard. Rotten Tomatoes has it currently at a 61%.

Sorry To Bother You

IMDb synopsis: In an alternate present-day version of Oakland, telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a universe of greed.

Rating: R

Run Time: 1h 51min

Sorry To Bother You actually came out in the middle of July, but is making it’s way here now. Fans of the FX television show Atlanta will recognize the main actor of the movie in Lakeith Stanfield. It seems like a movie that is a little more “out there” but I’m really interested in it. The Rotten Tomato meter loved it, with a current score of 94%.
