
Three new movies take to the big screen in Brainerd this weekend if you want something different to do than battle traffic on Highway 371.

Crazy Rich Asians
IMDb Synopsis: This contemporary romantic comedy, based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend’s family.
The early reviews for Crazy Rich Asians are buzzing. It is currently sitting at a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and the audience score is at 95%. Plus who doesn’t love a good Rom-Com?
Alpha
IMDb synopsis: A young man struggles to return home after being separated from his tribe during a buffalo hunt.
Another strong start with the Rotten Tomatoes rating sitting at a 82% right now and a 76% audience score. Alpha is also the only movie currently with a 3D showing option.
Mile 22
IMDb synopsis: An elite American intelligence officer, aided by a top-secret tactical command unit, tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of the country.
The third and final new movie for this week is Mile 22, which stars Mark Wahlberg. Rotten Tomatoes isn’t giving it much love with a 23% rating, along with a lowish audience score of 38%. The director is Peter Berg, who has also directed recent Wahlberg movies such as Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon and Lone Survivor.
