Minnesota Timberwolves Announce New Throwback Uniforms

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced that they are bringing back a fan favorite jersey with just over a month to go before the start of the 2018-19 NBA season.

The nostalgia is very real with these jerseys. You have to hand it to the Timberwolves marketing and social media departments on this one. They knocked it out of the park with the background audio including play by play of old games including Kevin Garnett, Latrell Sprewell, Sam Cassell and Wally Szczerbiak.

The Timberwolves have announced that the new uniform will make its first appearance on Halloween when Ricky Rubio and the Utah Jazz come into Target Center. The uniform, which is being dubbed the ‘Classics Edition’, is in honor of the 30th season of Timberwolves basketball. The black uniform with green tree lining was originally worn from 1996-2008.

The ‘Classics Edition’ will be worn during these five home games:

  • October 31st vs. Utah
  • December 3 vs. Houston
  • January 4 vs. Orlando
  • March 5 vs. Oklahoma City
  • April 9 vs. Toronto
