As many football fans know the Vikings heated rivals have made a pretty big and shocking move. The Green Bay Packers fired head coach Mike McCarthy on Sunday after falling 20-17 to the 2-9 Arizona Cardinals. The loss dropped the Packers to 4-7-1 on the season, and pretty much out of the playoff picture. McCarthy, who helped lead the Packers to the Super Bowl in the 2010 season, has amassed a 125-76-2 as head coach in Green Bay since he took over in 2006. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, who has gone up against McCarthy 10 times, didn’t agree with Green Bay’s decision. Per Dane Mizutani of the Pioneer Press, Zimmer said, “I think it’s a mistake.”

Some are blaming quarterback Aaron Rodgers for McCarthy’s firing, claiming a rift between the two. McCarthy was always the excuse when Rodgers didn’t perform well. Now the pressure is on Rodgers.
