I had the chance to walk down to the new park in Brainerd on Sunday!  What a great location for the new amphitheater and amenities at Lyman P White Park!  The set up is great for the amphitheater as the seating climbs the hill and there is ample room for concerts in the round or theater staging for a band or other production.

I was impressed by the handicap accessibility, right down to the riverfront.  And there are great look outs over the river!  The City of Brainerd has invested in the future of our community with this terrific spot for a picnic, bike stop (including fixit station) and restrooms!

The naming of the park had some less than positive feedback when it first was announced but the information that circulated was not true and recent research has proven that.  (See Share History and Stories about Brainerd Lakes Area Facebook page).  The Lyman P White is indeed a fantastic reimagining of land donated to the city for this park space 100 years ago.
