Looks Like Brainerd Could See A Price Hike In Public Transit

It seems getting around the Brainerd Lakes using public transit could get a little pricier.

Brainerd & Crow Wing Public Transit provides public transit services to the City of Brainerd.   According to a press release from the city of Brainerd, generally Brainerd resident ridership fares cover the local share financial obligation of the operation within the City of Brainerd.  In 2018 the City of Brainerd had a third-party operator cost increase of 6% which has caused a local share shortage. As a result, at the Brainerd City Council meeting October 15, 2018, fare increases of $0.25 were approved for both the Brainerd-to-Brainerd and Brainerd-to-Baxter Dial-a-Ride service, or fares of $1.25 and $2.25 respectively.  This does not affect the Express route service.  This fare increase will go into effect on January 1, 2019. Please direct any questions or concerns to Andy Stone, Transit Coordinator at the City of Brainerd.
