Well this just happened. Let me start off by saying I AM NOT a fan of snakes big or small, so I can’t imagine how I would have reacted to this.
A shocked homeowner in Hastings, Minnesota, awoke on Tuesday to find a lengthy bullsnake in the bathroom…in the bathtub!
After managing to bag the snake (that’s courage right their), the resident called police, and sent to the scene were Officer Mike Schmitz and Sgt. Matt Hedrick, who had the task of wrangling the slithering serpent. The Hastings Police Department later said it was released into a nearby woodland. The bullsnake is one of the more common snakes in North America, and can grow up to 8 feet long. Luckily bullsnakes are non-venomous, but they look imposing enough to send me running for the hills. A picture of officer Schmitz and his new buddy can be found below. You are probably thinking the same thing I am. How did it get in the bathtub? Slither up through the tub drain? The toilet? You know maybe I’ll just stop right here before I freak myself out even more.
