What’s the first thing you did today when you looked out the window and realized that it had rained? I said “it rained? oh no”. And that’s the way the day began.
If you’re like me you think “I’ve seen it all, it’s just another icy day”, but this was one of the worst I can remember in a long time. The skate across the driveway, the chipping out the windshields (yes I parked outside), and then the adventure of getting on the street made for an interesting start. I think I knew this was going to be one of those days when I gradually crept up to a stop sign on my little side street and once I stopped the car actually slid sideways for a second.
Here’s what I’m thankful for when it comes to days like this… The National Weather Service that helps us all understand how the day is going to go, the local Sherriff’s office and law enforcement that give us the recommendation that we shouldn’t travel, my companions at work that help in collecting the information we need to help you get your day started, and good Lord who helps me make wise choices. For those of you that had a crappy morning and landed in a ditch or on a roundabout…. I’m sorry. It’s one of those things in life, you just do the best you can. Thanks to you, our great listeners, for keeping us up to date on what’s happening in your neighborhood. And a reminder to everyone that if you have friends or family that are limited, today’s a good day to check on them and prove out some Minnesota Nice! Be safe out there!
