Okay, I’ll tell you right away that I’m proud of my nephew Noah Christensen. So this is a little bit of a brag. (Like I really had anything to do with it). This week my nephew Noah Christensen of Breckenridge, MN signed to play basketball for North Dakota State University in Fargo. The Bison have been a dominant force in football for years, but in this part of the state we don’t hear as much about their basketball program. In this case though Noah is well known to part of our listening area as they will often play Staples-Motley, and Perham has been a rivalry school for Breckenridge for years. One of the biggest reasons I’m proud of Noah is his dedication to his sport and the time he has put in that earned him the attention that he is now getting. The other thing about Noah that he displays so much maturity and generosity with the fans and his teammates. I have witnessed him after a regional tournament win take the time to hang out and take pictures with every little kid that wants one. He is patient and kind with members of the media that want that clip for the 10 o’clock news, and is genuine and engaging when the camera is on and when its off. The tweets that were issued on signing day say he’s 6’9” but I have it on good authority that he’s added about an inch over the past year. So with that said, I have good reason to look up to Noah, but mostly because of his character. Congratulations Noah.
Noah Christensen averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds & 2.5 blocks last season, leading Breckenridge HS to its 2nd straight Minnesota state tournament. The Big Slim was named the Heart O’ Lakes Conference MVP. pic.twitter.com/NZVcmCrj51
