Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard reports that just before 7:00 Monday evening, his deputies responded to a report of a personal injury accident in the 13,000 block of Thompson Road in Brainerd.  When they arrived on the scene, they learned that a pick-up truck had been traveling east on Thompson Road when it struck a horse and a female who was walking the horse on the shoulder of the road.  The female was determined to be deceased at the scene.  The victim was identified as a 33-year-old female that lived on Thompson Road.  The driver of the pick-up was identified as a 44-year-old man from Brainerd.  The crash is currently under investigation.  No other details are known at this time.
