One game away from there first state title. That’s where the Brainerd/Little Falls Warrior girls hockey team sits in St Paul at the state girls high school hockey tournament. The Warriors defeated Andover 3-2 in overtime to advance to the championship game tomorrow night. Cheyenne Abear scored the winning goal just 10 seconds into overtime. The Warriors took a 2-0 lead into the third period, before Andover came roaring back to tie the game. In the end though, the exhausted Warrior girls dug deep, and were able to get it done. They will take on the number one seed, and two time defending champs Edina Hornets. They defeated Minnetonka 2-1 in the second semifinal. You can catch the championship game tomorrow night at 7 on 1340 Am KVBR, streaming live at Brainerdradio.net, and watch on MY45 TV. One more to go girls… good luck and GO Warriors!
