With Veterans Day coming up Thursday, November 11th, I thought we should share some Veterans Day Programs that are happening in the area.

Pequot Lakes High School will present a Veterans Day Program on Thurs. Nov. 11th at 9:00 in the Athletic Center at the school.  The theme of the program is “Letters Home” and will focus on the veterans experience overseas.  All members of the military and public are welcome to attend.  There will be a veterans photo after the event.  ( At 8:00, there will be a Veterans Breakfast for all interested veterans as well, with coffee and donuts being offered in the school cafeteria.)

The Brainerd American Legion reminds lakes area residents that there will be a Veterans Day Program on Veterans Day, Thurs. Nov. 11th at 10:00 at the new BHS Auditorium.  Guest speaker will be Paul Cibuzar, a retired veteran who worked with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. John Vessey, Jr..  A bus will be at the Legion at 9:15 to transport those who wish to attend.  It will depart at 9:30.  The Brainerd Public Library parking lot will be open to those coming by car.  Please enter in the North door of the auditorium along S. 7th Street.  MASKS ARE REQUIRED.

The Crosslake Community School will be hosting a Veterans Day event at the school on Thurs. Nov. 11 from 9:00-10:00.  Please join them as we honor all Veterans who have served.   American Legion Post 500 Color Guard  will be on hand, enjoy music performed by CCS students, listen to Keynote Speaker, Russ Philstrom and be present for the retiring of the colors.

Also, please check in with your local VFW and Legions to see if they will be offering programs or have specials for our Veterans.

Thank you for your service, Veterans (and current service members).
