Brainerd Lakes Area Food Shelves Need Help Now

The Brainerd Lakes Area food shelves are in need of donations as more people are needing food following job losses and wage losses due to the pandemic.  The numbers of those with children coming in to food shelves is on the rise and organizers say most of us would be surprised as to who is coming in needing services/food.  The truth is, we don’t really know… it could be your neighbor, friend, co-worker or a person you know from church.

March is Minnesota Food Share Month.  It runs this year through Sun. Apr. 11th.  A grant will partially match donations by a percentage of total dollars raised.  Actual food donations will be counted as $1 per pound of food.  Cash donations allow food shelves to purchase the groceries at a discounted rate from  Second Harvest Food Bank .  Please consider donating to ANY of the Lakes Area food shelves during March and help make a difference in the lives of many of our community members.

For more information, you can always visit the Brainerd Salvation Army’s website.

Thank you to those who have already donated and for those that have not, please consider doing what you can in the month of March.
