Brainerd Area And North Could See Up To A Foot Of Snow This Weekend

Sick of the snow yet? Well… we may see another round. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 9AM Saturday until 6AM Monday for a good portion of Minnesota. According the National Weather Service, for Northeast Minnesota, including Crow Wing, Cass and Aitkin counties:

” Snow should start during the early morning hours on Saturday but change over to wintry mixed precipitation before noon Saturday. This wintry mixed precipitation will be heavy at times and should last into the late afternoon hours on Sunday. Afterwards, precipitation will change back over to snow and continue into early Monday morning.”

 

So the next question is how much? 5-10 inches of snow and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch in a good portion of Northeast Minnesota.

Closer to home, Heavy snow, with 6-12 inches of accumulation, is possible from the Brainerd Lakes area north. To add to that winds could also gust up to 40 mph.
