I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just purchased The Black Crowe’s debut album “Shake Your Moneymaker” not knowing much about them. After one listen I was hooked on this band. A southern rock band with a heavy influence of Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith among others. How could this not be a success? Well it was for awhile, but you can’t count on two brothers suddenly not getting along. Chris Robinson (singer) and Rich Robinson (lead guitar) were the driving force behind the band for many years. So, when they started not getting along trouble was on the horizon, and they eventually split up. Time seems to heal wounds though. Fast forward to today with the announcement of them getting back together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their legendary debut album.
A tour has been planned for next summer with a stop at the Xcel Energy Center on August 13th. The band will be playing “Shake Your Moneymaker” in it’s entirety along with all their other big hits. I can’t wait! Tickets are on sale now.
