The “Great Minnesota Get Together” was all that and then some at the 2018 state fair in the land of 10,000 lakes.
Attendance over the 12 days this year was 1,997,320, the fair announced Tuesday morning. That beats last year’s record of 1,943,719. Along with setting the record for the year, fairgoers also broke three daily records. According to fair officials, fairgoers packed the grounds and set attendance records August 23rd, 25th, 29th, 30th and September 1st. Respectively, 122,695 people, 222,194 people, 156,764 people, 144,940 people and 270,426 people attended the fair those days.
Fair officials said Saturday, September 1st was the busiest day in Minnesota State Fair history.
