The Brainerd/Little Falls Warrior girls hockey team will be doing something for the first time…going to the state tournament! Ella Kalusche slapped a rebound past Roseau goalie Kiana Flaig to send the girls to the Class 2A state tournament with a 2-1 victory over the Roseau Rams at the Crookston Sports Center Friday. These two teams have a bit of history already, last year, they played nearly 100 minutes and four overtimes in the section final at Bemidji, with Roseau pulling out a 3-2 win. Roseau was seeking its sixth section title in 11 years. The Warriors carry a seven-game win streak to its first state appearance Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. As of post time we don’t know who they will play yet, but we will be sure and keep you posted. Way to go girls and good luck at state!
