Elton John Biopic ‘Rocket Man’ First Trailer Released

The first trailer for the upcoming musical fantasy Elton John biopic, ‘Rocket Man‘ was released on Monday. Kingsman’s Taron Egerton portrays the eccentric rock legend and provides his own voice for the songs in the film.

Sir John’s recordings date back to the 1960’s and the film will feature some of his biggest hit songs from the past five decades. The minute long trailer includes the narration, “Where there was darkness there is no you, and it is going to be a wild ride”. For John the wild ride included his colorful, dazzling, flamboyant wardrobe he donned in the 1970’s and 1980’s.  And, no one had better glasses!

Rocket Pictures’ co-executive producer (along side John), Steve Hamilton explained, “Rocket Man will be a radically different kind of biopic. It will be as unique as his life, and will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man.”

‘Rocket Man’ is set for a May, 2019 release. The Power Loon is excited to see this surge of new musical biopics (Bohemian Rhapsody, Bad Reputation), it’s been pretty dry out there the for quite a few years.  Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.
