Could A PGA Event Be Coming To Brainerd?

If everything goes according to plan, a Web.com PGA Tour Event could be coming to the Brainerd area within the next couple of years.

The Brainerd Lakes Area Tour Showcasewhich is a Pro-Am event, is happening on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Legacy Course at Cragun’s Resort. The goal of the event is to put Brainerd in the best position possible to host a future Web.com tour event.

The Web.com tour is the minor leagues of the PGA Tour. The golfers in the Web.com tour  have not yet made it to the PGA Tour or are former PGA pros who are trying to earn their way back to PGA Tour status. The stakes are high, as the top 25 on the money list at the end of each Web.com Tour season are granted PGA Tour memberships for the upcoming season.

I feel pretty good about our chances. Cragun’s is one of the best courses in the midwest and people are crazy for golf in this area. Putting some of the top golf talent in the world here to showcase seems like a no-brainer.

And sometimes you even get something crazy like NBA superstar Steph Curry playing a round
